sputter...sputter...UNFAIR!!!!

I've been thinking about something.

I'm not sure if this will give you a renewed enthusiasm or what but....this month is quite possibly one of the worst months for me to exercise.

I was doing really well. I really was.

But then.  I got sick. Flat out on my back if I do anything thing more active than walking up and down my stairs.

Also. Next weekend I am getting my wisdom teeth removed which means the physical activity for seven days after so they say!

GAH!!!!!!!

Nonetheless....even with these said things I still work 50 ish hours each week and I got a new calling which is pretty spiffy. You are reading words from the new R.S secretary of her ward. Yep. Cool right? Yes I am wiping the dust of my shoulder as I type.

P.S No I still have not received my Mish call. Still keeping an eye out for it though.

peace out home scout.

Team Lunch Pale & Mike

Team Name: Jello Jigglers
Lunch Pale Goal: 20 girly push-ups or 10 real push-ups every day
Mike: Eat within calorie intake goal every day

Bring it on!

Exercise Competition Details

Dear Lunch Pale, Mike, Twoderful, and the Momma of all Twoders

Here are the details for the exercise competition:
Start date: August 13, 2012
End Date: September 30, 2012

Come up with a cool team name and a goal (This goal could be anything exercise/health related. Here are a few suggestions: calorie counting, eating less of sugars or fats, eating more fiber, or whole wheat or fruit, doing 20 pushups, running 1/2 a mile, going for a bike ride...the goal can really be anything. Get creative and make it a challenge for you)
For this exercise competition we are keeping track of how many total hours we exercise. We also are keeping track of bonus points. We earn these bonus points by completing our specific goal. Every day this goal is completed, a bonus point is kept track of which means an additional 15 minutes is added to the score.
For example:
Monday August 13, 2012
Exercise time: 1 hour
Bonus goal completed? Yes
Total time: 1 hour 15 mins

Tuesday August 14, 2012
Exercise time: 30 minutes
Bonus goal completed? No
Total time: 30 mins

etc, etc....make sense?

Mid-way check in date: September 1, 2012 On this date we will all tally up our scores from August 13-August 30th. When posting your score, write the following information (I figure we might as well use the blog foor updating info):

Team name:
Hours completed of exercise:

...and whatever else you would like to add (such as bragging about your awesomeness...!)

The competition will end September 30th. On this day we will also post our team name and hours completed. Then, (the best part!!!) the winners are determined and the loosers send the winners a card or a letter in the mail saying how awesome they are for winning!

That's all, so to get started post your team name and specific goal. Each one of you can have a different goal, or it can be the same goal for both of you. So...here is my team name and goals:

Team Name: Hairy Man Belly
Dish Towel's Goal: 50 sit ups every day
Mike's Goal: 50 sit ups every day

What think ye...?

Having a baby is a miraculous thing. Your body goes from this
to this...and somehow lives through it!

Your hormones also go from this

to this and...somehow our dear husbands live through it!

But something that your body does not do so well is change from this
to this.

Somehow, 2 months after having this baby, my belly still looks something like this. (minus the hair. I promise preganancy did not make me grow belly hair)
I've made it back to my pre pregnancy weight, but not quite my pre pregnancy shape (aparantly having a baby is a big deal for the body...)
I've been exercising here and there and been doing really good...well, really good on some days. Most days I seem to find myself forgetting, not finding time, or not making exercise a priority. I didn't think it was too huge of a deal until realizing it has been 2 months-2 MONTHS and I still have some extra belly flub going on. I was just realizing that if I wanted it competely gone, some serious action would need to take place.

Does everyone remember  when we used to have exercise competions? We would do it separately, or keep track in teams and then in the end the winner(s) would win something stupid like a handful of nickles. Do you remember that? Well, I always found it fun a really really motivating. I thought: Dang! I need apartment 30 to help me loose weight!

So...what think ye? Do we want to organize another exercise competition, and if so, who wants to participate, how should we do it (individually, on teams with other apt 30 girls, or on teams with someone who lives close to us) what should the incentive be, and how do we reward the winner(s)? Here are some of my thoughts:

-I really loved being on teams with another apt 30 girl. It was really fun to secretely keep track of our exercise hours.
-It also is a challenge to split into teams, because it's difficult to put together completely even teams.
-I think it would be motivating to have someone we live with, or close to, as a team member, since it is always a motivator to have someone there pulling you out of bed when ya don't have the desire to do it.
-I loved having a prize. The nickle one was perfect cuz it didn't break the bank and for some reason it was SUPER motivating, even though the winner only won something like $1.20. Since when is that motivating? Since apartment 30 is that motivating!!!
-If we do a prize, how would we get it to the winner? We don't live close to each other, so we can't just hand over our nickles, or whatever else the prize is.
-It's sorta become tradition to eat at Jason's Deli on Conference weekend since that is when a lot of us are in town, we could have that as the goal time for a competition, and bring the prize there (but we would still probably want to make it mail-able in case the winner can't meet us there)

In conclusion, I think this would be a good idea/starting point. (Tell me what you think, give me additional ideas.)
I think we should do 2 teams. This way we can be on a team with apartment 30 girls as well as our husbands, boyfriends, sisters, mothers, and other close friends. This is also easier to make it more evenly matched (I think...maybe not, but whatever). I also think the prize should be mail-able (nickles may end up being on the expensive side to mail seeings that they are kinda bulky). I was kinda thinking that loosers buy ice cream at Jasons Deli (since the ice cream is free! haha. Just kidding, but funny, yes?) I really am terrible at coming up with a prize for the winner(s), so help me out here ladies!
The next Conference weekend is the first weekend in October. This gives us about a month an a half to exercise. I think by time we get going, this will be perfect for a short exercise competition. So, I think the time span should be between now and then.

Those are all my thoughts, so let me know if you want to participate and what your thoughts are (especially for the motivation/incentive/prize).
That's all! Hopefully with the help of apartment 30 my belly will get back to the shape it used to be in! Haha! (No more hairy man belly! Haha!)

Hello My name is...

So you may or may not have heard this song,

So. I was listening to it with my sister and she says "Who would say that when you first meet?" (refering to the line in the song 'the day I first met you, you said you'd never fall in love.) We continued listening and when it got to that part she said, "Hi, my name is Mike, and I'm never going to fall in love." I kinda thought it was hilarious.

You May Want To Read This...

Okay...HUGE NEWS FLASH... so listen up!

Dear Friends,
I have been away for a while now in the land of Windy College. I have been on a roller coaster called life and have failed miserably to keep up with my dear apt. 30 sisters... so I regret to inform you in such an informal manner the following news, yet am very thrilled to be sharing this news with all of you! In the mean time, forgive my lack of ability to keep in touch.

Yesterday, around 6pm, a Mike boy of mine proposed to me. I, Spooner, said yes to Mike's proposal. I am now wearing an engagement ring! True story. Papa Spooner and Mama Spooner gave Mike permission this last weekend to ask my hand in marriage. I hope you all will have an opportunity to meet Mike as none of you have ever met him in person before. I love him to death and am pleased to announce we will be getting married in March 2013. (So I can go on my Disney College Program and then plan the said wedding).

I am so very happy about this and couldn't be more pleased with my choice to marry the man of my dreams. Spooner now has a Mike to spoon. lol. I get to marry my very best friend and the man I love most in all the world. :)

I love ya all and hope to talk to you gals soon to spill more details. Until then...I'm off to take my remaining finals for the semester.

Happily in Love,
Spooner :)

P.s. I have to do an on-line Yay yay yay dance: This is a must!!! :D
I'm Engaged!!! Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay!!! Yayyy! :)

Okay. All better. :)

Love is like farting. If you have to force it then it's probably crap...

*WARNING* Post will be longer than a smidge or a blurb, it's more of a speil....or a word vomit volcano.

I have not posted in awhile and that means I may or may not have a lot or a little to say. You can decided, guess, judge, contemplate etc.  Oh and I like lists....so may the list commence!

A) At work, remember how I see lots of names. I have a new one that strikes a funny with me. LURKA URMA. For a girl. Say it five times fast and don't smile. Hard right? Well...for me it was.

B) Because all of you soul sisters of mine decided to either get married or move away I was left with a considerable lack of close friends. Therefore I became a recluse of sorts with my bro. We were comfy with each other and didn't really feel the need to be social. Then...our mom grounded us from sitting next to each other at our religious gatherings and we had to separate. The result? Wall-flower no more. Big step in a happy direction.

C) I can start a papers party!!!! Think about it..................................got it? If not here is a clue *18 months*

D) (*WARNING* I am about to break a rule. See if you can catch on.) So remember a certain David? He is of a certain age and certain height with a certain hair color? He had a cameo on the tube a bit ago in this sweet angelic choir during a wide world broadcast. The David who has a mag filled with his face that may or may not have found its way under my pillow at one point in my life? So you all know the history with this boy right? My alleged man who goes around with musical tones and has no idea whose man he is. Well this David may have taken a different form as of late. His hair color is the same. His skin color is about five shades darker. He grew a few inches, height and girth. He speaks Portuguese..... and English. He does carry around musical notes. His last name means blueberry. And I actually know him in person.
Get my drift?
So David and I enjoy long walks on the beach, sipping lemonade and finishing each others sentences. We take turns braiding each others hair and last weekend we got tattoos of each others faces put on our right thighs. Sushi is our favorite food to eat together. We enjoy heavy metal music and coloring books. Any questions? OK good. Moving on.

(*Disclaimers on David*
1. I owe nothing.
2. He actually knows I exist.
3. He is in no form attached in a BF way.)

E) Happy JULY 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F) This was brought to you in part by...Twoderful. It's more than wonderful its, Twoderfull and tooterfull!

Dear Lunch Pale and Twoderful (well...and everyone else too. I just think Lunch Pale and Twoderful will remember this more than anyone else)

Think back to a time a long long LOOOOONG time ago. It was the moment where I got my name (Dish Towel). Do you remember this moment? I hope you do, cuz I'm not going to write this moment on here for public eyes to witness....if ya know what I mean. So anyways, due to circumstances, I received the name Dish Towel.

Well....
I am pleased to announce something exciting in the world of Dish Towel. Due to recent circumstances, I no longer qualify for the name Dish Towel. No, I do not wish to change my name, I just wish to boast. Are you ready for this...?

Dish Towel (now keep in mind the situation a long time ago and recent changes that have occured in my life), I no longer meet the qualifications for "Dish Towel." Instead, I qualify for the status of...(DRUMROLL.....)...Dish RAG!!!

Get it?
Well...I hope you do. I felt this was a blog-worthy thing to share, but a little bit difficult to share with apartment 30 without sharing to the whole world.

So...if you don't understand a word that I just said, well...just text me or call me or message me on facebook. But don't you dare think I'm going to explain things in depth on here. That would spoil the secret to the meaning behind my name. Haha!

Signing out, Dish Towel :)

I've got the bug! Watch out you evil pudgers!

Remember back at the beginning of apartment thirty where I wore a ginormous bug on my arm?  Well, Mike and I have found some new ones that are like half the size.
Since Minimike came along, the land of the lard has increased, so this bug is helping me to fight the evil pudgers and gain control.  So far, I have fought 10 evil pudgers into submission in the past 3 weeks!
Kapeesh?
-Lunch Pale, the victor
I was just reminiscing on old posts, and got distracted by one of mullets.  Which reminds me, my son has a mullet!  Since finding his ability to control his own head, giving him haircuts is a pain in the coccyx.  So, I took the clippers to those lovely locks.
He tried to eat them.
And stare them down.
Which is how it became super duper difficult to buzz away the hairs at his neck.
And now my son is sporting a mullet.
:D  I couldn't be a prouder mommy.

at the B & N

Recently (yesterday) while at the B & N, I came across some fantastic treasures.  I HIGHLY recommend going to your nearest and reading them aloud with someone else.  They are short and sweet.
First, "Goodnight iPad" by Ann Droyd.  Say the name aloud.  hahahaha.

Secondly, "Zombies Hate Stuff" by Greg Stones.

I started to look at this one for Zombie's sake, and I was not disappointed.

Lastly, "All My Friends Are Still Dead" (a sequel to "All My Friends Are Dead") by Jory John and Avery Monsen.

All of these books are gems that make Mike, me, and Mini-Mike laugh a lot.  *sigh*  Go check them out!
