Team Lunch Pale & Mike

Team Name: Jello Jigglers
Lunch Pale Goal: 20 girly push-ups or 10 real push-ups every day
Mike: Eat within calorie intake goal every day

Bring it on!

Exercise Competition Details

Dear Lunch Pale, Mike, Twoderful, and the Momma of all Twoders

Here are the details for the exercise competition:
Start date: August 13, 2012
End Date: September 30, 2012

Come up with a cool team name and a goal (This goal could be anything exercise/health related. Here are a few suggestions: calorie counting, eating less of sugars or fats, eating more fiber, or whole wheat or fruit, doing 20 pushups, running 1/2 a mile, going for a bike ride...the goal can really be anything. Get creative and make it a challenge for you)
For this exercise competition we are keeping track of how many total hours we exercise. We also are keeping track of bonus points. We earn these bonus points by completing our specific goal. Every day this goal is completed, a bonus point is kept track of which means an additional 15 minutes is added to the score.
For example:
Monday August 13, 2012
Exercise time: 1 hour
Bonus goal completed? Yes
Total time: 1 hour 15 mins

Tuesday August 14, 2012
Exercise time: 30 minutes
Bonus goal completed? No
Total time: 30 mins

etc, etc....make sense?

Mid-way check in date: September 1, 2012 On this date we will all tally up our scores from August 13-August 30th. When posting your score, write the following information (I figure we might as well use the blog foor updating info):

Team name:
Hours completed of exercise:

...and whatever else you would like to add (such as bragging about your awesomeness...!)

The competition will end September 30th. On this day we will also post our team name and hours completed. Then, (the best part!!!) the winners are determined and the loosers send the winners a card or a letter in the mail saying how awesome they are for winning!

That's all, so to get started post your team name and specific goal. Each one of you can have a different goal, or it can be the same goal for both of you. So...here is my team name and goals:

Team Name: Hairy Man Belly
Dish Towel's Goal: 50 sit ups every day
Mike's Goal: 50 sit ups every day

What think ye...?

Having a baby is a miraculous thing. Your body goes from this
to this...and somehow lives through it!

Your hormones also go from this

to this and...somehow our dear husbands live through it!

But something that your body does not do so well is change from this
to this.

Somehow, 2 months after having this baby, my belly still looks something like this. (minus the hair. I promise preganancy did not make me grow belly hair)
I've made it back to my pre pregnancy weight, but not quite my pre pregnancy shape (aparantly having a baby is a big deal for the body...)
I've been exercising here and there and been doing really good...well, really good on some days. Most days I seem to find myself forgetting, not finding time, or not making exercise a priority. I didn't think it was too huge of a deal until realizing it has been 2 months-2 MONTHS and I still have some extra belly flub going on. I was just realizing that if I wanted it competely gone, some serious action would need to take place.

Does everyone remember  when we used to have exercise competions? We would do it separately, or keep track in teams and then in the end the winner(s) would win something stupid like a handful of nickles. Do you remember that? Well, I always found it fun a really really motivating. I thought: Dang! I need apartment 30 to help me loose weight!

So...what think ye? Do we want to organize another exercise competition, and if so, who wants to participate, how should we do it (individually, on teams with other apt 30 girls, or on teams with someone who lives close to us) what should the incentive be, and how do we reward the winner(s)? Here are some of my thoughts:

-I really loved being on teams with another apt 30 girl. It was really fun to secretely keep track of our exercise hours.
-It also is a challenge to split into teams, because it's difficult to put together completely even teams.
-I think it would be motivating to have someone we live with, or close to, as a team member, since it is always a motivator to have someone there pulling you out of bed when ya don't have the desire to do it.
-I loved having a prize. The nickle one was perfect cuz it didn't break the bank and for some reason it was SUPER motivating, even though the winner only won something like $1.20. Since when is that motivating? Since apartment 30 is that motivating!!!
-If we do a prize, how would we get it to the winner? We don't live close to each other, so we can't just hand over our nickles, or whatever else the prize is.
-It's sorta become tradition to eat at Jason's Deli on Conference weekend since that is when a lot of us are in town, we could have that as the goal time for a competition, and bring the prize there (but we would still probably want to make it mail-able in case the winner can't meet us there)

In conclusion, I think this would be a good idea/starting point. (Tell me what you think, give me additional ideas.)
I think we should do 2 teams. This way we can be on a team with apartment 30 girls as well as our husbands, boyfriends, sisters, mothers, and other close friends. This is also easier to make it more evenly matched (I think...maybe not, but whatever). I also think the prize should be mail-able (nickles may end up being on the expensive side to mail seeings that they are kinda bulky). I was kinda thinking that loosers buy ice cream at Jasons Deli (since the ice cream is free! haha. Just kidding, but funny, yes?) I really am terrible at coming up with a prize for the winner(s), so help me out here ladies!
The next Conference weekend is the first weekend in October. This gives us about a month an a half to exercise. I think by time we get going, this will be perfect for a short exercise competition. So, I think the time span should be between now and then.

Those are all my thoughts, so let me know if you want to participate and what your thoughts are (especially for the motivation/incentive/prize).
That's all! Hopefully with the help of apartment 30 my belly will get back to the shape it used to be in! Haha! (No more hairy man belly! Haha!)

Hello My name is...

So you may or may not have heard this song,

So. I was listening to it with my sister and she says "Who would say that when you first meet?" (refering to the line in the song 'the day I first met you, you said you'd never fall in love.) We continued listening and when it got to that part she said, "Hi, my name is Mike, and I'm never going to fall in love." I kinda thought it was hilarious.
